Message from the President

HOW WE ARE A ‘RESOURCE FOR PROSPERITY’

Resources for Prosperity is much more than just a tag line to our name—this is a process. Since 1915 your Corona Chamber has been providing businesses with resources for prosperity. A strong dynamic business community benefits everyone in the greater Corona trade area. Your Corona Chamber connects local businesses, service organizations and all levels of government to create an environment where people want to live, work and play.

The Chamber is a private, not-for-profit organization, supported by its 900-plus businesses throughout the Inland Empire, representing over 40,000 jobs. Most of our members are small businesses with fewer than six employees.

Through a wide variety of programs and initiatives, your Corona Chamber works to positively impact the quality of life in the region, while supporting the growth and prosperity of our members. Together with talented leaders in business, community and government, the Chamber’s volunteers and professional staff work to make our community a better place. From education to economic development, your Corona Chamber is committed to giving each of its members the opportunity to prosper in today’s competitive business world.

The primary objective of your Corona Chamber is to improve the economic vitality of the Corona business community. The Chamber provides a clear and persuasive voice for the business community, advocates for business-friendly legislation at federal, state, county and local levels, attracts new businesses and industries to the community, and attracts new customers for our member businesses.

The financial investment made by members like you—in the form of dues, sponsorships and participation in events like the Magic of Monte Carlo and our upcoming Business Expo (Wednesday, October 7, at Crossroads Church, 2331 Kellogg Avenue, 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.)--allows your Corona Chamber to make a significant impact on critical business and community issues. The professional interests in the community are essential to finance the programs that are vital to growth and development. By leveraging the talents and resources of our members, we can improve the economic opportunities for everyone in the greater Corona area.

Your Corona Chamber provides business-building programs, from the annual Business Expo to professional development seminars; from networking opportunities and business referrals to discounts on business-related goods and services.

Annually, in late September, we conduct a survey of our members. For the past three years we have had five core competencies: Creating a Strong Local Economy; Promoting the Community; Providing Networking Opportunities and Business Referrals; Representing the Interest of Business with Government; and Promoting Political Action to Ensure a Favorable Business Climate. This year the survey results are not finalized, however it appears that a sixth competency will be added: Providing a Sustainable Future.

Your Corona Chamber promotes the greater Corona trade area as an economic, financial, educational, medical and cultural center for the Inland Empire. On behalf of your Chamber’s professional staff and dedicated volunteers who work diligently to provide resources for your success, we invite you to learn more . . . become engaged, get involved. And even if your work situation prevents you from attending, remember that by being a member, your Corona Chamber works for you while you are doing what you do best—working your business!

In closing, we have all experienced change along the way and this year has brought tremendous change. After years of service as our partner in design and layout, and an integral part of this publication, this will be the last month that Peter Fischetti Publications will perform the work under contract. Peter’s wisdom, professionalism and artistic talents have been enjoyed by many throughout the years. Our Chamber’s growth and prosperity are due to the assistance from member firms and partners, and in Peter’s case, he has been a tremendous supporter of our Chamber. He is not the typical vendor—he spent countless hours ensuring that the publication got to the printers, and his many years of activity on the committee are to be admired.
