The Ambassadors Committee
The Ambassadors Committee chaired by Mark Neely (Windy Plum Farms), assists members with business grand openings and ribbon cutting ceremonies as well as other events. The Ambassadors are also present at the New Member Receptions, Good Morning Corona, Quarterly Luncheons and Government and Transportation Luncheons as well as other events when called upon. Additionally, the Ambassadors distribute the Membership Resource Guide. The members of the Ambassadors can be recognized at these events by their maroon blazers or their matching Ambassador shirts.

Business Expo Committee
The Business Expo Committee is chaired by Phyllis Russell (As You Like It Event Design and Catering) and has become an expanding annual event for the business community in Corona. It’s an excellent and economical venue for showcasing your business and its products or services. The committee’s meetings will begin in February with the Expo taking place in October. The Expo will be held at Crossroads Church (2331 Kellogg Ave. at Ontario Avenue). Attendance and exhibits have been expanding each year since the Chamber introduced the event. On the same day at the same location, the Chamber holds its Quarterly Membership Luncheon. Sponsorships for this flagship event will begin in May, and early bird registration for booths will begin in June.
A new component added to last year’s Business Expo is the Career Day when the Corona Chamber partners with the Corona-Norco Unified School District to give high school students “hands-on” experience with interviewing skills through classroom instruction and role playing. Career Day facilitators will be looking for assistance with interviewing as well as assistance in producing the 2008 program. Ann Poloko (Financial Investors Group) chairs this portion of the Business Expo.

Corona Networking $olutions
Corona Networking Solutions (CN$) is chaired by Melina Wood (Mary Kay Cosmetics, Inc.) and exists to create leads for businesses that participate. The group is open to all Chamber members and welcomes new members. Non-Chamber members can attend two sessions before becoming members of the Chamber. Hundreds of quality leads are provided to participating members annually. CN$ meets each Thursday at noon (except the last Thursday of the month) at a different Chamber member restaurant. They invite you to learn more about having this dynamic group become a sales force for you. Join them!

Finance Committee
The Finance Committee is chaired by Ann Poloko (Financial Investors Group). This committee develops the annual budget, reviews expenditures, and works closely with the staff and bookkeeper to ensure the financial records are correct and are reported to the Board of Directors.

Good Morning Corona
Good Morning Corona (GMC) is chaired by Jean Gonzalez (The Little Yellow Pages). GMC meets the last Thursday of the month at the Sizzler. The doors open at 6:30 a.m., and the session begins promptly at 7. This event is an excellent networking opportunity with an average attendance of 150. Be sure to bring business cards and literature to display in the lobby area.

Government and Transportation
Government and Transportation is chaired by Carolyn Anderson (Waste Management). The committee meets at lunch at the Sizzler on the last Monday of the months: January 28, Feb. 25, April 28, June 30, August 25 and October 27. The committee also supports the legislative trips to Sacramento. The Sacramento trip is scheduled for May 20-21. Various elected officials as well as transportation-related speakers appear at these meetings. These trips enable member firms to further develop a relationship with our elected representatives while learning more about state and federal issues.

The Leadership and Education Committee
The Leadership and Education Committee is chaired by Jean Easum (Naval Surface Warfare Center). This committee plans and coordinates the Leadership Corona Program. What begins as a nine-month program (meets once a month) to offer leadership skills to participants, concludes with leaders who are versed in a variety of skill sets. Participants have the opportunity to experience a rarely seen Corona and network with other up-and-coming professionals in a myriad of businesses. If this is the type of experience you are interested in, look no further. Leadership Corona is a select leadership program created by the Corona Chamber of Commerce based on skill development, community competence, and leadership in action. Utilizing a blend of classroom learning, excursions into the community, and the opportunity to meet and discuss leadership and management with some of Corona’s leaders, the program educates participants on a variety of topics and allows them to gather the skills which suit their individual leadership styles and business environments. Marketing/Promotional
The Marketing/Promotional Committee is chaired by Cynthia Schneider (American Security Bank) and is responsible for the Corona Business Monthly magazine (the publication you are reading now), the Corona Business Directory and the City Map. This year, the committee will enhance its efforts in branding the Corona Chamber name, and all materials will be disseminated to the public. The 2008-2009 Business Directory is contracted with Circle City Marketing, LLC (736-1475). The Directory will be published listing the names of Chamber member businesses as of March 31, 2008. The publication date is scheduled for late summer. The Marketing/Promotional committee meets on the first, second and third Thursday at 8 a.m. at the Chamber.
Corona Business Monthly (CBM) is the official publication of the Corona Chamber of Commerce and focuses on bringing the business community current information relating to the Chamber’s core values and expanding on legislative issues. The July issue typically features Women in Business, and the September issue is dedicated to the Business Expo and businesses involved in that event. Advertising in CBM is a sure way to reach decision makers and businesses throughout Corona and the surrounding area.

Magic of Monte Carlo and Auction
The Magic of Monte Carlo and Auction is chaired by Linda Pearson.
The Magic of Monte Carlo and Auction, to be held this year on Friday, June 6th at Eagle Glen Golf Club, is the Chamber’s primary fundraiser and is the Corona Chamber’s Signature Event. As its primary fundraiser, the Chamber focuses its fundraising energies on this one event. Designed as a formal adult affair, it features a Texas Hold’em Tournament, Blackjack, Roulette and Wheel of Fortune. It also incorporates a live and silent auction. Revenues from last year’s event funded our Legislative Action Committee (LAC). Funds raised this year will enable our Chamber member services and the LAC to flourish.

New Member Reception
• New Member Reception, chaired by John Champion and Dawn Montelius (The Little Yellow Pages), takes place every odd month at Backwoods BBQ (4300 Green River Road #102, Corona 92882) on the last Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. The purpose of the committee is to introduce and welcome new members. It is a great opportunity to meet the movers and shakers of the Chamber and community.

Corona Legislative Action Committee
The Corona Legislative Action Committee is chaired by Cynthia Schneider.
Legislative Action Committee (LAC), chaired by Cynthia Schneider (American Security Bank). The LAC determines our initiatives in political advocacy by reviewing issues at a local and state level to ensure that they promote a favorable business climate in Corona. This highly-rated program is funded by proceeds of the prior year’s Signature Event – the Magic of Monte Carlo.

Quarterly Membership Meeting
The Quarterly Membership Meeting is chaired by Mike Warren (Fire Department Chief, City of Corona). The committee structures and hosts four large membership luncheon meetings, and is responsible for reviewing and handling the organizational details from start to finish. As part of this event, the Chamber recognizes business firms with the Award of Excellence in Retail, Service Industry and Manufacturing/Distribution along with a new member award and a Non-Profit Organization/Agency award. These awards are selected from nomination forms submitted and reviewed quarterly. The Quarterly Membership Luncheons are open to the public. Reservations are encouraged.

On March 11, Mayor Jeff Miller will give the State of the City Address at Eagle Glen Golf Club (1800 Eagle Glen Parkway, Corona 92883). Sponsored by Hamner Towing, May’s Luncheon will be a salute to our military. It will be held at Eagle Glen Golf Club. Sponsored by As You Like It Event Design and Catering and Financial Investors Group. October’s Luncheon will be held in conjunction with our Business Expo at Crossroads Church (2331 Kellogg Ave., Corona 92881). Sponsored by Corona Regional Medical Center. December’s luncheon will be held at Eagle Glen Golf Club. Sponsored by Riverside Transit Agency (RTA).

Service Organizations
The Service Organizations Committee is chaired by Lisa Montoya (Parks Department, City of Corona)
The committee meets the first Monday of each month (except holiday Mondays). The committee is comprised of all service organizations and non-profit businesses and agencies. It reviews the calendars of all events which are printed in the Corona Business Monthly, published on the Chamber web site (www.CoronaChamber.org), and distributed at Good Morning Corona, the Government & Transportation luncheons and other Chamber events. The committee raises money to purchase and distribute a dictionary to every third grader in the Corona-Norco Unified School District and private schools. It also coordinates and assists with a speaker’s bureau for clubs, organizations and businesses.

Technology Committee
The Technology Committee is chaired by Mario Zapata.
The Technology Committee meets quarterly on the 1st Friday of the month of January, April, July and October at Noon, at the Chamber office.
The committee has two focus areas. The first is Chamber operations, reviewing technology utilized, offering recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness; the second is working with other Chamber committees to help improve the use of technology in presenting their event, program or activity.

Nominating Committee
The Nominating Committee reviews applications of potential candidates to serve on the Corona Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors. Applications are available on the Chamber web site (www.CoronaChamber.org) or by visiting the Chamber offices at 904 E. Sixth St., Corona 92879. The Board of Directors consists of 21 volunteers who serve the organization in accordance with the Policies and Bylaws of the Corona Chamber of Commerce.
