Providing Networking Opportunities and Business Referrals Corona Ambassadors are the Chamber’s most visible committee. They conduct member visits, serve as greeters at Chamber events and help to coordinate business grand openings and ribbon cutting ceremonies. Ambassadors can easily be recognized at events by their maroon blazers or polo shirts with the Chamber badge prominently displayed.
Committee meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at 12 noon.

As the premier showcase for the best of Corona, the Business Expo offers exceptional networking and marketing opportunities for local businesses. The Business Expo Committee is responsible for the planning and coordination of this highly successful event. The annual event typically draws over 1,000 attendees and is open to the public and free to attend. The Career Day component allows high school students to interact with the business community during workshops and mock interviews. Preparing the next generation for productive employment is extremely important to your Corona Chamber.

LEGISLATIVE ACTION COMMITTEE
Representing the Interest of Business with Government
Promoting Political Action
The Legislative Action Committee (LAC)’s is a “watchdog” committee whose mission is to maintain a favorable business climate in Corona, the county and the state. It reviews issues that affect business, makes recommendations for positions to take on those issues and forwards those positions to the membership of the Chamber to act upon. LAC rallies letter writing campaigns, initiates discussions with legislators and send representatives to speak on the floor during hearings in Sacramento. All funding for this advocacy program has been provided by the proceeds of the prior year’s Magic of Monte Carlo.
LAC consists of 15 voting members and membership is open to all Corona Chamber members in good standing. Meets are held on the third Tuesday of each month at 8 AM and are open to all members of the Corona Chamber.

MAGIC OF MONTE CARLO

The Magic of Monte Carlo Committee assists in the planning of this formal, adult affair. Soliciting donations for the live and silent auctions area primary function of this committee. This the Chamber’s only fundraising event, and proceeds support our Legislative Action Committee, as well as many member benefits.

MANUFACTURING/TECHNOLOGY COUNCIL
Creating a Strong Local Economy
The Manufacturing / Technology Council (MTC) is strictly focused on manufacturers working for manufacturers. The objectives of the council include providing a forum for the sharing of ideas and practices, developing an environment of cooperation between manufacturers and our governing agencies, studying matters related to the continuous improvement of manufacturing operations and providing a platform to develop successful business strategies and management leadership techniques.
The Manufacturing/Technology Council (MTC) meets every other month and is open ONLY to manufacturers. Meetings include presentations on topics of primary interest and value.

MARKETING/PROMOTIONAL
The Marketing/Promotional Committee is responsible for the Corona Business Monthly, the Corona Business Directory and the Map. The committee seeks new ideas, new products and additional companies to feature in various issues. It also seeks contributors for writing, suggestions, proofreading, as well as businesses to advertise. Chamber members can advertise in the magazine and directory at a reduced price. The publications are distributed to all businesses in Corona and much of the surrounding community.

COMMUNITY SERVICES NETWORK
Promoting the Community
Corona non-profits and service organizations work together to avoid duplicating efforts within the City. Members review the community events calendar, which is printed in the Corona Business Monthly, published on www.CoronaChamber.org and distributed at various Chamber events. They coordinate and assist with a speaker’s bureau for clubs, organizations or businesses for the benefit of our members. The committee raises money to purchase and distribute a dictionary to every third grader in the Corona-Norco Unified School District and Corona private schools. It also coordinates and assists with a speaker’s bureau for clubs, organizations and businesses. The committee is currently coordinating the creation of a resource/service guide for residents.
This Committee meets at 12 noon on the first Monday of each month (except on holidays).

AD HOC COMMITTEES
Ad hoc committees are best defined as short term, “as needed” or one time only committees. The following descriptions are of those committees placed on the ad hoc list at the 2008 Planning Session:
Bylaws. This committee meets throughout the year to review the Chamber’s bylaws. Recommendations for any changes are submitted to the Board of Directors.
Military Affairs. After the successfully achieving the original goal of saving the Navy Base in Norco from the BRAC cuts in 2005, this committee is now reviewing its follow-up mission and is seeking interested members to help develop and implement new goals. One option under review is the adoption of the National Guard unit in Corona.
Nominating. This committee reviews applications from potential candidates to serve on your Corona Chamber Board of Directors. Applications are available on the Chamber web site or by visiting the Chamber office. The Board of Directors consists of 21 volunteers.
